As Redpack Packaging Machinery celebrates its 50th year of manufacturing, a team family member from the founders of the company has also enjoyed a personal milestone too.
John Briston enjoyed his 70th birthday on 7th October 2023. He joined his brother Michael in September 1973 who had started a precision engineering company. They then helped the original company with the manufacture of the first sets of machine parts and the first flow wrapping machine. The name Redpack Packaging Machinery was established in 1977 and the brand subsequently acquired by the Briston family in 1997.
John remains a great enthusiast for the company, in charge of the machine shop at Redpack’s Bowthorpe site on the outskirts of Norwich. Given his vast experience, John remains at the knowledge hub of the business, giving advice and guidance to team members on products and parts issues. His dry wit, enthusiasm and energy remains a constant source of inspiration for many.
John celebrated his birthday with the loan of classic Triumph TR6 car for the day to drive. “I am a self-confessed petrol head”, said John as he reflected on his special day.
Redpack is a Briston family-owned company and with decades of experience and expertise in engineering It remains a British manufacturing success story with worldwide exports across a wide variety of food and non-food sectors.
